Testimonials for Cannons Creek Boxing Academy
Grateful Mum...
"Thank you to all coaches and staff for the great job you do in providing a opportunity for all 3 of my children in the sport of Boxing.
My daughter started term one and absolutely loves it because she is made to feel apart of the group, and is improving her personal fitness and building on that. The challenge of achieving the classes, sit ups etc is motivating my girl to turn up every week, alongside the positive messages from the coaches.
My middle son attends lessons through his schools and is also enjoying the challenge of building on his personal fitness.
I think it is great that he is able to do Boxing through his school, thank you so much!!
My older son is 13 and again he also enjoys boxing, with the added incentive to spar if he so chooses to. We have seen a huge improvement in his personal strength and fitness, and are all very proud of his commitment to this sport."
My son loves to come to boxing...
"My son loves coming to boxing. He would come every day if he could. He enjoys the intensity of the training as well as being “allowed” to physically fight/box. He thinks a lot of the coaches and enjoys how friendly and welcoming the other children and coaches have been.
As a parent I love the focus on values and the community/family/welcoming atmosphere inspired by the coaches. He has always been a physical boy and it’s great for him have an outlet for it.
Reinforcing that trying something new has great rewards, including confidence building and meeting new people that are both friendly, inspiring and like minded."
Positive program for young kids...
"My son has been training at CCBA since last year.
The reason I joined him was because he was very shy and was not very motivated to take on any type of physical sports.
Over the time he has been there I have noticed he has become bit more confident and open.
It is a very friendly atmosphere at the gym and the team of coaches are very encouraging and supportive of new kids. This is the reason my son is always keen and never wants to miss a training.
It is a very positive program for young kids of Porirua and I plan to keep my kid there for many years to come."
My Greatest Success is Boxing (written by a CCBA member for a school project)...
- I'm not as shy as i was before, I wouldn't start a conversation with somebody I don't really know
- I have got a lot fitter from boxing
- I have made friends with lots of other people
- I have been doing this 5k run with my gym and i am able to run a lot longer than when I started and faster
- When we have been sparing I have learnt how to dodge a punch or hot the first away
A place where you are taught respect...
"I am writing in support of my daughter attending your classes for the following reasons:
- self awareness
- discipline
- team work
My girl has always been a ‘social butterfly’ with no sense of boundaries. Her ability to make good choices has been made clearer I have noticed in the sense of how she carries herself, how she looks after herself and how she treats others. One example is she told me recently she has a friend whose parents were dead set against allowing her friend to attend boxing because ‘boxing is for bullies and people of anti social behaviour 😳 (my girl was at her friends place when this was said). My girl advises she told the Mum it’s a place where you are taught respect, discipline, self defence and so much more than the mums assumptions. I was proud to hear this from my girl because I never told her this and I can only imagine she has learnt it from your boxing classes. This to me is a leader trait as only few are willing to challenge another’s opinion with factual information (not highly emotional driven).
My girl has grown an awareness of the importance of fitness and is in the process of remanaging her bedtime to allow for cardio workouts either before bed or early mornings (bless her as she is her mother’s child and we struggle with early morning anything 😩).
With this short time she has been with you she, in my opinion is laying the foundation for life ahead I.e respect, routine and discipline, 3 very important principals of raising future leaders of the next generation!"
Turned my boys into champions...
CCBA also do a lot of work for our community and schools in our community. So its not just their members they focus on, their hearts go out to anyone and everyone who needs a helping hand. Seeing the smiles on the communities faces at the end is more than enough for them!
There is no other Boxing gym like CCBA who go above and beyond anyone with a beating heart.
They've turned my boys into champions
